Classroom Management
“Give Me 5″ is what your student will hear daily as I gain their attention to tasks. This means 1 my eyes are looking, 2 my ears are listening, 3 my mouth is quiet, 4 my hands are still, and 5 my feet are still. I will have my hand in the air and then the students will follow and put their hand up and do all of the 5 requests. This is a school wide tool.
Each day the students clips begin on the green happy face. If a student choose to not follow an expectation then I will give 3 warnings before I move a clip to yellow straight face. If a student chooses to continue to not meet expectations then another 3 warnings are given and then their clip is moved to red sad face and the student has to sit in time out. If the behaviors continue then a phone call home, time out in another teacher’s classroom, and/or an office visit will occur.
A clip will be moved automatically for any aggressive/physican behaviors without warnings.
The students folders are sent home daily with the behavior page checked so parents are aware of ALL behaviors.
