Let’s Play in Pre-K

PLAY! “I thought I sent my child to school to learn”

Well the best way to teach young children is to let them explore their environment and play as they learn.

Dramatic Play

In this center the students play with toys that relate to the theme that we are learning at school.

Blocks

The block center helps students use their bilateral skills (both hands) and eye coordination to stack and create new structures that are related to the thematic unit.

Fine Motor

In the fine motor center the students strengthen their pincer skills (finger and thumb) to help them become better writers.

Art

The art center is open to create master pieces that are related to the theme of the week.

Computer

In the age of technology the children are allowed to play educational games on the computer as they learn how to manipulate a mouse to get the game to perform.

Math

The math center is open for students to count objects, put together puzzles, recognize shapes, and complete patterns.

Reading and Writing

The students use materials to listen to stories on tape, write stories, and manipulate letters.
