I am so excited for this school year. It is going to be a fabulous year in first grade! I look forward to getting to know all of my students and working in our classroom community.
We are going to be learning about so many interesting things. In Science we will start off the year learning about the weather. We will be doing many fun activities to go along with the lesson. In Math we will begin the year going over the calendar and classroom procedures using Math manipulatives. It is going to a lot of fun. In Language Arts and Social Studies we will be talking about family and communities. We will be reading some wonderful books and doing some interesting activities to go with the lessons.
We will be using a balanced literacy program this year. It will incorporate writer’s workshop, guided reading and shared reading. There will also be some fun and educational learning centers such as, a listening cener, reading reef, writing center, and many more.
We will be doing so many interesting activities and learning about so many fascinating things. It is going to be a blast in Mrs. Jones’ Reef this year and I can not wait to get started on August 25, 2008.
