We are so excited for this school year. It is going to be a fabulous year in first grade! We look forward to getting to know all of our students and working in our classroom community. It is going to be very exciting learning in our brand new classrooms.
We are going to be learning about so many interesting things. In Science we will start off the year learning about the weather. We will be doing many fun activities to go along with the lessons. In Math we will begin the year going over the calendar and classroom procedures using Math manipulatives. It is going to a lot of fun. In Language Arts and Social Studies we will be talking about family and communities. We will be reading some wonderful books and doing some interesting activities to go with the books.
We will be using a balanced literacy program this year. It will incorporate writer’s workshop, guided reading and shared reading. There will also be some fun and educational learning centers such as, a listening center, reading center, writing center, and many more.
We will be doing so many interesting activities and learning about so many fascinating things. It is going to be a blast in First Grade this year and we can not wait to get started.
